We traveled to Finnmark, Norway—as far north as you can go above the Arctic—to surf in some of the most extreme conditions imaginable. With temperatures dropping to -15°C while surfing and -17°C at night, this was the coldest surf mission I’ve ever been on. Traveling with me was Frode Goa and joined by our good friend Charly Rodriguez from Finnmark Surf, who knows these icy waters better than anyone, we explored the remote coastline, searching for waves in freezing Arctic waters. With only a few hours of daylight each day, a barely functioning camper van heater, and no other surfers around, this was pure adventure. Despite a bad forecast, we committed to the trip anyway—and it paid off. We found empty waves, surfed in snowstorms, and pushed our limits in the Arctic wilderness.
