We often say that Cape Town is always offshore somewhere, because the peninsula is nearly an island. What is also true is that some surf spots are very exposed to swell, while others are very hidden around a corner from the prevailing swell direction. There are a couple of very good waves in the Cape Town area, that also serve as a great place to hide when the rest of the coast is being lit up by massive, messy, monsters!
