Surfing in the UK during winter is quite a contrast to the tropical conditions in Indonesia. Although pretty chilly on this day - Air Temp 4°C (39.2°F) and Water Temp 9°C (48.2°F) - it will get a lot colder than this in the months to come. Only the most dedicated paddle out during the UK winter, but this is the time when the waves are typically at their best.
